“Believe Me?” is a performance piece about credibility and authority when it comes to information and how many times we don’t question what is said to us.
This piece was preformed at Munich Jewelery Week 2019 at the Vitsoe X Central Saint Martins gallery.
In today’s society more than ever before we hear about fake news and the way the media steers our beliefs. It is important to question things that are said and take information that is given with a grain of salt. The best way to illustrate this, at the exhibition in Munich I lied and fabricated different stories on what my piece is about. Each person I spoke to I told a different lie to. My point is that the audience believed what I said because it seems sound and coming from a seemingly credible source.
