The rings are inspired by the literary movement of Magical Realism by creating an altered reality of classic fine jewelry.

Magical Realism originated in South America during the mid 20th century. Author Matthew Strecher defines the movement as “what happens when a highly detailed, realistic setting is invaded by something too strange to believe".  It takes everyday mundane things and adds in a supernatural, strange “other” that then brings out the beauty of the ordinary.

Inspired by surrealism and the literary movement of magical realism; I wanted to take the concept of a standard fine jewelry emerald cut solitaire ring, and warp it into something magical and strange, inspired both by the works of Salvador Dali and Gabriel García Márquez, this ring is what happens when you wear a standard ring in the space between dreaming and reality.
